The sense of innovation, combining creativity with technicality and efficient teamwork. During EBEC Challenge you can put all of these skills to the test and lead your own team to victory, or at least to an evening full of fun and challenges.

The concept of EBEC Challenge.

EBEC Challenge consists of 40 local rounds and 6 regional or national round. The winning team of each round gets prizes and a ticket for the next round. Maybe your team will even make it to the EBEC Challenge Benelux!

Meet the Innovative Design.

The teams will participate in EBEC Challenge on 01/03.

Together with 3 friends, you will be able to combine your creativity and knowledge to develop technological designs and improve existing ones to solve a problem. You will have to use basic materials (wood, springs, magnets, nails...) and tools (glue gun, saw, drill…) to build a prototype to showcase what design you had in mind. Their professional presentation should demonstrate the technical, social, environmental, and economic impact of their design.
All in all, Innovative Design is comprised of 3 key factors: researching/ideating, planning/detailing the implementation and pitching your idea to the judges. Do you have a creative yet practical mindset that can solve problems like no other? Then don’t hesitate to challenge yourself and test your engineering skills!

The competition takes place on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Ghent in teams of 4. You are expected at 16h30 at the Sint-Pieters Abbey (Sint-Pietersplein 9, 9000 Ghent). Make sure to bring your laptop!

The Case Study is a more abstract problem that typically applies to real life situations. Your team will have to think of ways to solve a theoretical problem or create a plan on how to apply specific technologies. The only constraint will be your own imagination when looking for the ultimate solution for e.g. drone applications, adaptable buildings or the digital highway.
Got a knack for solution oriented thinking? Then participating in the Case Study might just be the perfect challenge for you!

The competition takes place on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Ghent in teams of 4. You are expected at 17h30 at the university building De Therminal (Hoveniersberg 24, 9000 Ghent). Make sure to bring your laptop!
