EBEC Benelux

The winners of our Local BEST Engineering Competition (LBEC) will have the chance to go to the beBEC Regional Round in April. They will compete the winners of the other LBECs of Belgian and Dutch LBGs: Liège, Leuven, Brussels, Brussels ULB, Louvain-la-Neuve, Delft and Eindhoven. This RBEC (Regional BEST Engineering Competition) will be organised together by all Belgian and Dutch LBGs.

During one week, the local winners will have to solve Team Design and Case Study tasks. In Team Design teams will design, manufacture and present a device satisfying given specifications and material constraints. A jury of professors and company representatives will then judge the designs on criteria like ingenuity, performance and branding. Companies can provide a Team Design task, but we always think of a big BEST TD too. Case Studies are real life problems mostly provided by companies that students have to solve within a limited period of time. Presentation skills, problem-solving and creativity are really important to show you're the BEST engineering team.

Besides working hard on the TD and CS tasks, the participants will have the chance to get to know the BEST spirit. Parties at night are ideal moments to get to know each other more. Eventually we will organise a nice team building activity like adventuring or mountain biking.

After this week of competing and having fun, we will have an overall winner for Team Design and an overall winner for Case Study. Both teams will have the chance to go to EBEC: the European BEST Engineering Competiton in August.
