Master Dissertation: How to read/refer

The Master Dissertation , your final big project before you can call yourself a true Engineer. But how do you start with this paper? Where can you find interesting sources? How do you refer correctly and how do you make a good literature study? What are frequent mistakes in English? What is the proper academic writing style?

All these questions and much more will be answered during the two part Master Dissertation session. This first session will give you more information about how to read/refer.

CONTENT
First, Mieken (library responsible at our faculty) will show (with live demo) where all the information comes from, how to find it and how to manage all the different references. Afterwards, Thijs (faculty of Linguistics) will show (with hands-on activities) what to do with/how to use sources once they've found them. This includes understanding how sources are used in articles, how sources are used in argument , and how to know whether or not the source you have is useful.

The second session will take place on the 25th of October.

NOTE: the entire event is in English
