Title: Crowd analytics with cognitive services

At events an organizer does not have a way to keep track of what the visitors in his event are doing. There is no automated way to track metrics such as visitor count, satisfaction, most visited spot, average queue length, etc. There is no way to measure which stands/spots are most visited or perceived as the best stand or the stand that receives the most positives responses.

When organizing an event. It would be nice to have a system that can monitor an event’s visitors and track their emotions and behavior at the event.

The system would be able to track how different boots infer different reactions from visitors and can combine this information to provide statistics about the event such as number of visitors, average happiness, potential bottlenecks. The system can use a mobile app for visitors to check their metrics.

Additionally, the system can use face detection and identification to track the path a visitor takes at the event for purposes as providing insights, providing the visitor with a “map” of what stands they visited and how good they found them. Provide visitors with an overview of visited stands and their top 10 based on their emotions.

The end goal is to have a system that is easily scalable, easy to setup, can use off the shelf webcams and hardware to analyze the crowd on the event site. The system should be able to handle the high load of video analysis and provide a near real time experience. Furthermore, the system should be able to change depending on the event type, a large event can have multiple booths but is a different beast from a wedding event.

- Webcam, Dev board hardware (pi, arduino, etc) (available on premise)
- Azure environment for dev/test
