STMicroelectronics

ST Zaventem is an important design center for ST with current activities in the field of Connectivity such as Bluetooth, WLAN, FM, GPS and in the domain of Smartcards.

Bluetooth is the codename for a technology specification for small form factor, low-cost, short-range radio links between mobile PCs, mobile phones and other portable devices. The Connectivity Division of ST primarily focuses onto the cellular market segment by means of innovative product concepts and design in advanced CMOS technologies. The ST Zaventem team also expanded its activity to include FM-radio into advanced Bluetooth/FM Combo products designed in 65 nm technology.

In close cooperation with our teams in UK and France, our Zaventem R&D team manages the integration of the different connectivity technologies into monolithic IC, produced in advanced 65 nm technology. This chip, integrating WLAN and Bluetooth, but also FM-radio, puts high demands for development, especially for radio coexistence of the different technologies.

The teams in Zaventem are in charge of marketing, concept and architecture definition, system, analog & RF, digital and software design, and application engineering.

The Smartcard BU has a team of smartcard software experts which participate in building a competitive portfolio of high secured smartcards products and support the business opportunities for key-on-the-door smartcard solutions and services for banking and government customers worldwide.

We are constantly looking for:

- RF & Analog IC Design Engineers: You
will join the development of analog
front ends of state-of-the-art
transceivers in CMOS integrated
circuits. Depending on your expertise,
you will be involved over time in
different phases of product creation,
such as architecture and feasibility
issues, analog cell design and design
verification in our measurement lab.
Experience in CMOS analog IC design,
CMOS radio architectures and/or
technical management of complex
analog IP-blocks is a plus.

- Digital Design Engineers: You will take
up responsibilities relating to all aspects
of the digital design cycle of our
complex low power SoCs, including
architecture design, detailed design
and verification, using state-of-the-art
techniques such as RTL coding, logic
synthesis and formal verification. A
good knowledge of digital design
techniques is mandatory and good
system know-how is a plus.

- Application Engineers: You will work on
R&D for reference designs and
validating product demonstrators, in
close cooperation with the other R&D
teams. Pro-active customer support,
including creating user documentation
and developing training programs will be
a major part of your job. You have
experience in either hardware & RF, or
hardware & audio processing, or lab
test SW development. Good system
know-how, from requirements to
proven implementation, is required.

- System Test & Validation Engineers:
You will verify that the product is
compliant with the requirements
(standards, specifications, customer
use cases, etc.) and approve the
functionality and performances as
a "first customer". You will also develop
test tools & methodologies to perform
effective (highest coverage) and
efficient (automation) validation
activities. You have an interest, skills
and experience in System Design and
System-on-Chip.

- Chip Assembly Engineers: Within the
Chip Assembly Team, you will perform
the physical implementation (place and
route) of mixed digital-RF ICs. You will
be working with state-of-the-art
design methods and tools to deal with
the increasing complexity and low
power requirements of our designs. A
good knowledge of digital design
techniques is mandatory.
