As a QA (Quality Assurance) engineer you have the opportunity to design and further develop on one of the most successful products in the IP router market today: the 7750-ESR internet router for providers and carriers (and further evolutions). Currently 20% of world’s internet traffic is going through these routers. You will be part of the IP (Internet Protocol) division, working in a very talented team and in a technically challenging and stimulating environment. With the ever expanding internet (50% bandwidth growth each year), the convergences of the fixed and the mobile world, the explosion of video related applications, the 4th generation of mobile communications, we are looking at growing our R&D team. Goal: Deliver an internet router with the highest quality Your main responsibilities will include: The quality testing of a number of features you signed up for. You’ll have the final responsibility and decide if these features and the router can be shipped to our customers. You’ll also guard over the overall product quality once deployed. Your main challenges will be: You’ll need to -be able to learn a lot of complex matters in a short time frame as you need to become an expert in a number of specific internet areas and get a good overview of all functionality within an internet router, -follow-up the evolutions in the internet world, -be in close contact with the hardware and software developers, the product managers, the sales and pre-sales people and the support teams, -fully test all aspects of your features, -understand the challenges of a real-time operating system and have a feeling for weaknesses’ in software and hardware designs, -be very creative in order to simulate complex real-live situations and overcome any constraints, -work very efficiently, automate any tests that you want to repeat or any test where you need to validate many combinations, -be able to cope with the responsibility of delivering a feature for which you committed for, -keep in mind the customer points of view, -work in an international environment. | Nodige voorkennis | Technical background and experience:
You need to be interested in computer networking and in basic programming You need to be creative and highly efficient. You need to speak and write English Experiences with Linux, with IP networking, with a programming languages (preferably scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, bash), with network test tools are considered assets. Social Skills: We are looking for people who are committed and determined, who will live up to the set goals, who can work autonomously but will not hesitate to contact a team-member for support and willing to share their knowledge. In order to do this, one has to be assertive and to be able to cope with a high level of freedom. |
