Joining the Wireline Networks team will open exciting career opportunities at a time when a global leader is changing the way the world communicates. The team is the leading R&D site for Alcatel-Lucent’s IP based DSLAMs success story (DSLAMs are located in central offices and remote boxes of telecom operators). As the largest telecom R&D centre in Belgium, we were the first to put ADSL on the market. Today Alcatel-Lucent is the market leader in VDSL and our R&D teams are continuously looking for even more bandwidth for all our users, in order to make sure everybody in the world can enjoy triple play (voice, TV and high speed internet) over his telephone cable. Now we are ready to interconnect everyone throughout the world optically with Fiber-to-the-user (FTTU). Understanding our customers needs, continuously exploring innovative ideas and turn them into successful products makes the difference in our highly competitive telecom industry. You will help developing the hardware solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team of experts using state-of-the-art technology, design tools and processes. While gaining experience, you can evolve either to a technical expert or to a project team lead. Goal As a junior board design engineer you will join a team developing one of the most dense, challenging and state of the art hardware boards in the telecom market. It contains digital, analog and optical parts. Your main responsibilities will include: •feasibility studies •technical follow up of third parties •schematic design •layout follow up •hardware verification test •product qualification and certification •industrialization and link to manufacturing •introduction of the board towards the customer Your main challenges will be: •the willingness to accept and overcome the challenges •to think “out-of-the-box” •to apply creative solutions to complex technical problems •to be able to work both independently and as part of a team Sandrine Halleux (Talent acquisition and development) Email: Jobs.recruitment@alcatel-lucent.com |
