We are scouting for a Trading Application Engineer to join our highly successful team.
Optiver is an international and innovative proprietary trading firm. We deal in highly-automated electronic market making and arbitrage activities. What you’ll do As a member of our Trading application team you will be responsible for the availability and performance of key trading applications and systems. This role involves technical trouble shooting, managing application performance and liaising with the end-user regarding requests. Your combined skill in IT and Trading makes you the perfect person to run a complex trading environment. You are able to talk to our Developers, System Engineers, Network Engineers, Researchers, Risk Analysts, Architects and Traders. Together, you will look for the best solutions and make them happen. Your actions have a direct impact on our P&L. You know what it is to take responsibility and always trying to find a better way to do things. Your knowledge and interest goes beyond IT, you want to know how things work. You are interested in Trading. You want to know -or even better- you already know what options and futures are. What you’ll need As a Trading Application Engineer you’ll need to: • Have a strong interest in trading; • Have (some) experience in Unix, Windows and/or databases; • Have general knowledge about networking; • Scripting skills like Bash, SQL, Perl, Python, VB script and PowerShell are appreciated; • Be a team player with excellent communication skills; • Have a hands-on mentality; • Have a HBO/WO Bachelor or Master degree level.
