| Beschrijving | VASCO Data Security is looking for a ‘Junior Advanced Development Engineer’ to join its Advanced Development department in Wemmel.
The mission of the ‘Junior Advanced Development Engineer’ is to create alternative proof of concepts for our future VASCO solutions, whereby a solution can be a combination of HW, SW and application, based upon his/her creativity rather than on experience. Key Tasks: * Technology follow-up: Investigate new technologies that can become a part of future VASCO solutions. * Search for new solution ideas: Take part in the idea scouting process (in team) whereby we search for new concepts and new solutions, we check the market value of these ideas and estimate the feasibility. As junior, we expect that here you are best in thinking out-of-the-box. * Do feasibility study: Based upon research (e.g. internet) and on some experiments, we make a paper study explaining how this idea could be realized and studying how feasible it is to make from this idea a successful prototype. * Make a real functional prototype:Based upon the feasibility study (paper), you will help in making a real implementation that proofs that this idea is correct and that the solution is feasible. You will assist the senior engineers and as such get in contact with a lot of new technologies. Your extra added value will be to solve these problems where experience fails. Make a "show-case" solution: This is converting the working prototypes into show-cases that can be demonstrated internally (to product management) and/or externally (e.g. to potential customers). Optionally, you can become the specialist for taking care of the graphical aspect of the "show-case". |

| Nodige voorkennis | * You have a Master degree in Computer Science / Engineering with Software Programming experience.
* Hands-on experience with making prototypes (e.g. as hobby). * You are a fast learner with a hands-on mentality and a positive ‘can do’ attitude. * You are creative and innovative, willing to think ‘out of the box’ and to try new things. * You have good communication and problem solving skills. * You are able to work in a small team. * You are passionate about one or more of the following domains: ‘electronics’ – ‘computers’ – ‘internet’ – ‘e-commerce’. * You have graphical skills (e.g. for designing web pages) with notions of Cryptography and Security Applications. * You are fluent in English (and Dutch).
