Exail is a leading industrial player in high-tech solutions for the civil and defence sectors. Exail Robotics Belgium develops and produces unmanned surface/underwater vehicles that detect, identify, and destroy sea mines or explosives. Thanks to our innovative “standoff” concept adopted by the Belgian and Dutch navies, we can significantly reduce the risks involved in mine hunting. We also develop our own sonars, which enable our customers to view and detect objects on the waterbed.

The development of a high-tech underwater drone requires a good tracing of the customer needs down to the implementation level. The Quality Management System (QMS) is an important element to guarantee that the customer needs are being met. In this QMS, the requirements conformity matrix is key to track this during the full development process. An important link with e.g. the Atlassian software suite is missing to allow easy updates of the requirements conformity matrix. Your task will be to develop a tool that can:
Provide good traceability between all layers in the EXCEL based requirements conformity matrix
Extract the detailed development information about the project from the Atlassian software suite, and more particular, JIRA
Update the requirements conformity matrix based on the extracted information from JIRA
Report on the mismatches between the JIRA extract and the requirement conformity matrix
Improve the requirements conformity matrix to accommodate new reporting features
Provide a reporting on the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of the development project
Provide tooling to track the history of the development of the project, including the KPIs

Physical presence on site is required. Mouscron is about a 15-minute drive from Kortrijk. By public transport, our offices are 15 minutes by bike or bus from the train station. Occasionally, we can arrange a visit (and transport) to the Ostend factory where our unmanned vehicles are built.

Good command of Dutch or French. Can have a conversation in English. You will work in an international environment
Knowledge of Python and experience with object-oriented programming
Knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of databases and other data management tools (like JIRA in Atlassian) is a plus
