Factry Historian is used in the process industry to gather data from industrial systems at high resolution in a time series database.
The software consists of a few open source components that Factry has supplemented with, partly open source, own contributions to make it industry-ready.
Our software is used in factories and power plants across Europe and the USA. We have already replaced several historians from big industrial vendors like GE and Schneider Electric.

Sitation:
Our setup can easily handle a certain amount of writes per second. Above that, performance starts degrading.

Challenge:
We would like to at least double write performance.

Proposed approach, to discuss with you:
1. Building test environment
2. Root cause analysis
3. Formulation of problem solving strategies
4. Proof-of-concept of top x problem solving strategies

During your internship, you will work together with our lead developer and solution architect in a fun and stimulating environment at Co.Station Ghent.

- Node.js and/or Golang or C++
- Knowledge of Linux & filesystems are a +
- Knowledge of industrial protocols like OPC-UA are a ++
