Title: Remote meetings in VR or Mixed reality environment

Meetings... we all know them but don't always like them. After planning it, getting all the required people invited, there are always people that will join the meeting remotely. Which allows people all over the world to join the meeting with ease, but this lowers the natural human interaction part and may result in a bad experience.

Let's improve the user experience of the remote caller with a virtual meeting room! We want to give the user who joins the meeting remotely, the feeling that he is actually present. With Unity 3d we can create a virtual environment that looks like a meeting room. Each remote user in the meeting will be represented in the virtual environment and the people that are physically present in the foreseen meeting room will be represented as the center element. Sharing information of information can be done in the virtual environment and can improve the experience. For example: a virtual whiteboard, sharing of a desktop screen,…..

For the first phase of the project, google cardboard devices can be used for prototyping because of their low price point but there are limitations. A second phase may include the support of Oculus Rift or mixed reality hardware.

Available materials:
- Oculus rift (only on premise)
- Cardboard devices ( without phones)
- VR ready pc
