SQL Server and the Graph DB

Here you find the details for the internship named "SQL Server and the Graph DB" in the company Ordina Belgium.

Details
Name: SQL Server and the Graph DB
Company: Ordina Belgium
Description:

Business Unit: VisionWorks
Title: SQL Server and the Graph DB
Technology: Visual studio, SSIS, SQL Server, Azure, ....

Context & Concept:

Microsoft SQL Server is a product that is constantly evolving. New features are added all the time, and more and more of these features are becoming available in the cloud. Unfortunately, old habits die hard. Mainly because we don’t see and realize it can be better.

In more recent versions of SQL Server, Microsoft added the option to use Graph Databases within the known SQL Server Engine. Can this new feature solve interesting use cases? Can we gain new insights? How does it compare to other Graph Databases like Neo4J?

Goal

You will set up a working BI platform, while setting up an ETL flow for a dataset of choice(or one that will be provided). You will set up a useful model in SQL Server of both Graph and Relational structure to be able to compare both.
On this platform, analysis (and ideally visualization) had to be possible. Optionally, you can also look at a way to set up Graph Databases within other technologies.
