Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

The Materials Engineering division in Toyota Motor Europe is responsible for the research and development of new materials and analytical techniques for emerging technologies. Particularly we examine topics which work towards reducing the environmental impact of our vehicles. One of our key topics is the development of sustainable fuels, such as green hydrogen or carbon neutral hydrocarbons from the conversion of carbon dioxide.

Our team aims at searching for and integrating European unique and advanced technology into final products to strengthen Toyota’s future products.

Your project

We are now offering a position to digitalize and automatize the H2 Production Unit that is used for material testing for Water Electrolysis (H2 production).
The main goal is the optimization of the Unit to replace several of the components of the safety and sensing system, improving the existing system and compacting the unit volume.

The Activity will Include:

• Integration of a RaspberryPi single-board computer in the testing station
• Electronic integration of parts to the RaspberryPi single-board computer
• Python script development to substitute current solution in place
• User interface dashboard to substitute current solution in place
• Digitalization & Automation of multi-step processes to maximise resources

Your profile

• You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
• Bachelor/Master student (preferably: Electronics / Automation / Mechanical / Informatics / Software Engineering)
• Good knowledge in Python
• Previous experience with RaspberryPi is a plus
• Interest in sustainable technology

Starting date: 15th September

Duration: 12 weeks

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

The internship must be an integral part of the candidate's academic program, ensuring that they receive academic credits and that it contributes towards the completion of their diploma
