What we would expect from you
As member of corporate engineering you will find yourself among an enthusiastic team of young graduates and senior experts. Our mission is to develop machine control systems that enable the processes developed by your RED colleagues (Research Engineering and Development) to make new products. Also we renew the PLC and visualization of existing machinery, integrate remote accessibility and data acquisition to lever process optimization. This ranges from extrusion machines in engineered products towards robots and conveyors in our flooring solutions business unit.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
• The upgrade of existing machinery towards state of the art electrical control systems
We standardize on Siemens automation equipment and profinet for our new machinery
• The electrical and automation part of large projects where you team up with technology experts e.g. experts in digital printing or experts in material processing
• Managing your own projects from design to commissioning
• Cooperate with our ICT department to integrate machines and provide MES connectivity
• Staying ahead on the latest technology by regular education & international technology fairs
You will report to the head of the automation department in engineering who will guide you in your first steps until you become fully responsible for your own projects.
Profile
• You have recently graduated or are about to graduate as MsC in Electromechanical, Electrical or automation, control engineering.
• You are passionate about technology
• You are willing to be the driver of change towards future oriented hardware and software (e.g. virtual commissioning, connectivity, motion control …).
• You are ambitious
• You are willing to educate yourself and stay ahead of the curve.
• You want to work in an international context and would enjoy traveling for work
• You have a good command of English and at least one other language, preferably Dutch or French
