We are looking for a Software Engineer to strengthen our engineering organization at the ActiveScale development center of Quantum in Ghent, Belgium. ActiveScale is Quantum’s high-performance object storage platform, designed to scale to exabyte levels while meeting enterprise requirements for durability, performance and operability. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working across layers, owning components end-to-end, and contributing to the design and ease of use of large, distributed systems.

As a Software Engineer in the management path team, you design, implement, and maintain services and workflows that orchestrate ActiveScale clusters at scale. You work across APIs, services, databases, and operating system interactions to ensure the system is reliable, maintainable, and operable.

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, or a willingness to learn additional languages. 

- Administration and troubleshooting of Ubuntu Linux. 

- Familiarity with Ansible for automation. 

- Understanding Cloud and Enterprise storage concepts and products. 

- Familiarity with scaling concepts such as sharding, networking, and distributed computing. 

- Ability to collaborate effectively within a global and distributed team.
