You'll also engage with emerging technologies and develop future-ready skills.

From day one of the traineeship, you’ll hold a permanent position, supported by a manager and mentor, with opportunities for “on-the-job” rotations and real project experience. Through team development sessions and learning modules, you'll connect with other participants and grow into your future career at Volvo.

If you're seeking a traineeship with global exposure and the chance to shape the future, this role could be your next step.

Our organization

You will become part of a dynamic community of production, tooling, maintenance, system and technology engineers — the true technical heartbeat of our Volvo Truck assembly plant.
Together, we design, analyze and continuously refine the way our products come to life. Innovation, collaboration and improvement are at the core of everything we do.
Working side by side with a diverse, cross-functional network of experts from operations, safety, quality and other engineering teams, you will help shape smart, future-proof solutions for a complex, large-scale production environment. From introducing new products and rebalancing processes to integrating cutting-edge technologies and driving purposeful digitalization.
No two challenges are the same. If you’re eager to learn, make an impact, and grow as an engineer — this is where your journey starts.

What will you do?

As a Digitalization Engineer, you are at the forefront of transforming how our factories think, operate, and evolve. Your mission is to accelerate the digital transformation of our industrial and engineering ecosystem by turning real-world manufacturing challenges into innovative, scalable digital solutions. You bridge engineering excellence with data, automation, and cutting-edge digital technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability across our truck manufacturing network. This is where engineering meets innovation. Where ideas become reality. And where you don’t just adapt to the future of manufacturing — you help create it.

As a data-minded engineer, you leverage data to uncover high-impact opportunities where digital tools and automation deliver measurable value, fully aligned with our business strategy and goals.
You spot, explore and interpret trends and patterns emerging from data analyses or programming, empowering data-driven decision-making across the organization.
You support the implementation of industrial tools and advanced reporting, making insights accessible to a broad user community.
You help define standards and analytical frameworks, contributing to the continuous optimization of processes through close cross-functional collaboration.
You work efficiently, securely and ethically, using emerging technologies validated by Volvo Group and fully aligned with its cybersecurity standards and core values.

Who are you?

You hold (or will graduate with) a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field such as Electromechanics, Automation or IT. Certifications in IoT or cloud platforms and big data tools are a strong plus.
Maximum two years of previous full-time working experience, prior or after graduation.
You have a genuine interest in end-to-end business processes and help translate business needs into clear requirements. You collaborate closely with professionals to design, build and roll out scalable, sustainable solutions.
You are a hands-on, practical analyst with strong organizational and planning skills, naturally taking ownership and initiative in your work.
You can communicate insights clearly, presenting findings to stakeholders through compelling visualizations and actionable recommendations.
As this is a truly global program, you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. A very good knowledge of Dutch or willingness to learn Dutch is mandatory.
