Chemical process engineer

Here you'll find the details about the job "Chemical process engineer" in the company QustomDot.

Name Chemical process engineer
Company QustomDot

Colorful, functional, and efficient: discover the possibilities of quantum dots (QDs) with QustomDot. QustomDot is an advanced materials company that develops QD technology for future microLED display applications.

QDs are semiconductor nanoparticles that can transform UV or blue light into pure colors such as green and red, through a process known as down-conversion. The emission color of the QDs is determined by the size of the QDs, which we precisely control through state-of-the-art synthetic procedures. A strong advantage of QDs is that they are obtained as a colloidal dispersion, which opens industrially relevant processing strategies such as direct printing or photolithography. As we speak, QDs are at the onset of the next technological revolution in the display industry, after LCD and OLED. Current QD technologies, however, suffer from instabilities under the influence of high light flux and elevated operating temperatures. We at QustomDot have developed a technology that renders QDs suitable to be used as down-converter directly on LED chips, thereby moving into the application field of microLEDs, the next big thing.

QustomDot aims to realize the full potential of QDs in the imaging and display industries and for that, we are looking for talented and motivated engineers to strengthen our team. As chemical process engineer, you will oversee the pilot-scale production of QDs and QD formulations. Your responsibilities include setting up, designing and operating the pilot-scale production line, carrying out risk assessment analyses, developing mitigation strategies, and optimizing the production through process analysis. You will join a strong and motivated team where collaboration, pro-activity and adaptability are highly valued. If your profile matches several points from the list below, QustomDot might be a good match for you!

Profile qualifications:
● You hold a master or PhD degree in process engineering, (bio-)chemical engineering or equivalent
● You have experience in scaling (bio)-chemical reactions from lab-scale to pilot-scale
● You have experience in carrying out risk assessment for (bio)-chemical processes
● You have worked in an industrial R&D or production environment
● You have an independent and pro-active attitude towards problem solving
● You are motivated to bring new solutions to our customers
● You are excited about working in a dynamic and changing work environment
● You are fluent in speaking English

Beneficial skills:
● You have worked on the design of batch processes
● You have experience with the synthesis of nanomaterials

We offer a full-time position in a growing company working at the cutting edge of display technology.
